| ...till I leave home for the summer. Crazy times, I know. It's been amazing finally getting to catch up with friends on all that has happened in their lives this year. It's a little frustrating to be leaving again once I am just starting to feel I know how everyone is doing, but so goes life. Despite these feelings, I'm jumping out of my skin in anticipation of my summer at Lake Ann =)
I went to the White's Bible study tonite for the last time this summer. We always watch American Idol after we're done...you know, read the Bible, watch American Idol...it all goes together. I'm going to miss that group.
Tonite we went through 2 Kings 19--a story of Jerusalem's deliverance from what seemed almost certain defeat by the Assyrians. They received threats and insults to their God--the LIVING God--and were surrounded on all sides by the enemy...a pagan king and his army that had consistently detroyed nation after nation. King Hezekiah tore his clothes, put on sackcloth, and prayed for the deliverance of his people. The prophet Isaiah assured him that the Lord had heard the insults out of the mouth of the Assyrian king and that he would be cut down. The night before the Assyrians were anticipated to enter the city and destroy God's people, an angel of the Lord came over the enemy and killed 185,000 men. Can you imagine that?!
God delivers His people. He hears their every cry and provides in unexpected ways during unexpected times. As I enter this summer I battle feelings of inadequacy. I know there will be times when I will cry out in need of deliverance...that's okay. In human terms I am inadequate, but as God's child, the only times I need to fear inadequacy are the times I forget HE is my adequacy.
Tomorrow: haircut book flight home for Jenelle and Blake's wedding date with Jeannine @ Ginger's Asian Kitchen Jenelle's house for wedding stuff!
p.s. Rambizzle--you made my night =) | | |
| My precious little girls are gone...how sad.
The Children of the World choir came to church on Sunday night. Their ministry is amazing--they take kids from all over the world and tour around the US with each group for a year...sharing their big smiles, beautiful hearts, and the ministry of World Help. Today they had to say goodbye to 4 of their members, from the Philippines, as they head back home early to start school. The children were heartbroken as they said goodbye to their friends and I was too...
